I am the Chapter Chair of the Central PA Chapter of the National Pancreas Foundation (NPF). I facilitate a monthly support group for pancreatic cancer patients and their caregivers and have done so for four years since my diagnosis five years ago. I am the recipient of the NPF Courageous Patient Award, for which I was nominated by my Johns Hopkins treatment team. I am also the recipient of the Sertoma Service To Mankind Club Award for work in the community in support of cancer patients. I have filmed promotionals for Let’s Win Pancreatic Cancer (letswinpc.org) and presented at the World Molecular Imaging Congress (WMIC). I have spoken at several Relay for Life Events. I am a mother to six children, married to Mike for 25 years, work as a Registered Nurse for UPMC Pinnacle ED and as an Adjunct Professor in the Nursing Program at HACC. Prior to nursing and growing my family, I worked as an Industrial Engineer for IBM Corporation. I am honored to share my journey and grateful to be here to do so.
